Now or Never
“If we wait until we're ready, we'll be waiting for the rest of our lives.” ― Lemony Snicket
So, when do you do something? If you start too soon, you are likely to fail. If you wait until you are ready, you will fail to start. Somewhere between these two extremes, lies the answer we seek. It doesn’t mean go into something unprepared or before you can handle it. Rather, it means stop letting fear hold you back.
It’s easy to shrug off missed chances as risks we were not ready to take. But when it comes down to it, are we ever fully prepared to take the big risks that present themselves to us? Are we ever going to be 100% prepared to make a change? We’re never going to be 100% ready for anything.
Your time is most valuably spent doing what you love. Do not spend your life reading and thinking about your ideas and passions, when you can do them.
Most life-changing decisions often lead us to doubt ourselves and to get scared. But we can’t just sit around waiting for the ideal moment when we will be ready. We have to just go for it.
Whatever it is you want in your life, start walking. Put one foot in front of another and get started. As you sit there, your life is passing you by. Time, unlike money, cannot be stored. Once squandered, it runs through your fingers never to return. Go. Achieve. Live. If you wait for everything in life to be perfect before you go after your dreams, you will die without seeing any of it accomplished. The only time now, today, so do the best work you can and don't worry about the rest.
