Scars Uncovered : Anonymous

Every scar has its story, part of what makes them memorable.

To be very honest, it took a whole lot of courage and "do you really wanna do this" to want to share this story and also considering the part of the world where we come from, here you are not expected to be depressed and if you are, thats probably your business...very bad I tried to talk to people and all they said was I'm making watching "oyibo film" too much of a habit. One said to my face that I'm NIGERIAN and I'm not supposed to be depressed.

Maybe quite different from every other scar story, mine were suicidal cuts all over my wrist up to my arm on both hands borne from depression. At some point I was being referred to as a frat guy.

I can only say those moments were terrific and disastrous. Asides people not understanding how you feel, there's always a constant fight with yourself.

So what's the story I'm telling here.

I was able to conquer depression and suicide and each time I look at my wrist, and hands generally . I realise how much battle I've fought in not more than 2 and half decades and how Victorious I came through it because GOD stepped in.

I refuse to be defined by my scars. #iamnotmyscar  #NoToSuicide.
