Be Happy
Happiness is all a matter of perception; it is created by what you choose to focus on, nothing more and nothing less.
Here are a few lessons on how to be happy.
- Don’t start with profundities. Start with the basics, like going to sleep early, eating when you are supposed to.
- Don't let the sun go down on your anger.
- Fake it till you feel it. Feelings follow actions.
- Realize that anything worth doing is worth doing well.
- Don’t insist on the best
- Exercise to boost energy.
- Stop nagging.
- Take action
- Cultivate Gratitude
- Forgive
- Get rid of negative thoughts and feelings
- Engage in meaningful activities
- Make enough money to meet basic needs — food, shelter, and clothing.
- Stay close to friends and family
- Be compassionate
- Have deep, meaningful conversations
So why not choose to focus on what brings you happiness? Instead of thinking about that one person who let you down, why not think about the person who was always there for you? Instead of kicking yourself for the mistake you made, why not celebrate the successes you've had? Instead of worrying about things that have gone wrong in your past, why not smile in memory of the things that went right?
Happiness is a choice, so choose it.
