Just do it
“It's a terrible thing, I think, in life to wait until you're ready. I have this feeling now that actually no one is ever ready to do anything. There is almost no such thing as ready. There is only now. And you may as well do it now. Generally speaking, now is as good a time as any.” – Hugh Laurie
Eventually, you’re going to run out of reasons and excuses, it’s down to gathering up your courage and taking the first step. It is better to try and fail than to not have tried at all.
You’re not one small person waiting to create big change. You’re a powerful person wanting to create small change. You have tremendous power to create in this world, but just like the power up switch, nothing works unless put it on.
Put it on.
Start that business, sign up for that class, make the call, read that book, start a practice, write a book, score a film: just go get it. Have the difficult conversation, place the ad, send your CV, go to that networking event, sign that document and attend that career fair.
Get rid of the clutter, go on that date, join the choir, take the trip, call the publisher, ask for the raise/promotion, publish the article, travel the world, book that ticket, make the speech, take the test. Whatever it is, it’s yours to determine.
Do that thing you've been putting off. Don’t wait for your feelings to change to take the action. Just take the action and see how your feelings change. If you wait until you feel ready, your opportunity has already passed.
